Pacquiao-Marquez 4 : The Final Battle

Posted on | December 8, 2012 | 4 Comments

A merry, merry, merry holiday everyone! 16 days to go before Christmas and the excitement in the atmosphere just keeps building up! With all the shopping rush and holiday getaway plans, another steamy event is brewing up!

Yes folks! Today is the day of the most awaited fight of the year not only for boxing fanatics but by every person all over the globe! And I am as excited as you are!

December 8, 2012 will surely make it to the records of history as it marks the end of an 8 yearlong boxing rivalry between the Philippines’ People’s Champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Mexico’s Pound-For-Pound star Juan Manuel Marquez.

The stage for Pacquiao-Marquez 4 is set at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and at exactly 9:00 pm, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will once again write another page in history as they fight for their honor and pride.

They are both very exceptional and talented boxers and they have both given great honor to their countries. But just like any match, a winner has to be pronounced.

Their first fight in 2004 was a draw. Four years after, Pacquiao won via spilt decision by a third-round knockdown. And just November last year, Pacquiao bagged another win via majority decision making the scores 2-0.

Today is the judgment day. The final battle. The rivalry between 2 great boxing heroes coming to an end. Who will win and take home the belt? Will Marquez be able to rise from his defeat and take the belt from Manny? Or wil Manny once again beat Marquez and set the record to 3-0?

Marquez’ declaration saying “It will be another war” (via Dan Rafael of ESPN) can give us the briefest summary of what to expect in this fight.  While Pacquiao declared, “…I know I haven’t fought perfect fights against Marquez in the past and my incentive in this one is to fight the fight I should fight. If I do that, I will not only win again but put away all doubts in the minds of the fans and Marquez on who is the better boxer.”

They have both expressed intense desires to win and in this last fight, I’m positively sure that we will see the best of both boxers that we have never seen before.

Manny Pacquiao will win.

No offense to Marquez but I am a solid Manny Pacquiao fan. And though there had been controversies in their last fight, I am 100% sure that Manny will make certain that there will be no more controversies this time.

Who’s your bet?

If pacquiao goes back to his unpredictable style of long ago… he will win by knockout.

Marquez is a technical counter puncher. He relies on fundamentals and counters the expected combos… The reason he was able to counter pacquiao well in the last 2 fights is that, Manny has gotten predictable as he learned to be technically better himself. Marquez sees this as an advantage. But if Manny goes back to his style before he went to Roach, he is very difficult to anticipate and read. He will win! But if he fights Marquez with techniques, Manny will lose to counter punching of Marquez.

crap! I’m so disappointed by the fight. I expected something else. I expected a 12 round fight with Marquez but all I got was a 6th round knock out. And men! it even took him quite long to gain his consciousness back!

I still love him though. With this fight’s results, I’m anticipating a Pacquiao -Marquez 5!

Pacquiao was taking over the fight, seemed on the verge of dominance and got absolutely knocked OUT COLD at the end of the fifth round.

2 seconds to the end of the 6th… the timing of the right hand from Marquez was perfect…

    goodbye Manny!

Guess you’re right about that dice8up. In sports like boxing, you have to be unpredictable. You have to keep surprising your opponent and make him keep wondering about your next move.

Guess Manny lost his magic touch this time. But he’s still one of the best boxers of all time for me!

Good thing I don’t gamble. Coz if did, I would have put my bet on Manny and I would have been more disappointed than I am now!Haha.

Well, let’s just see what happens next and wait for the possible Pacquiao-Marquez 5!
