Life can be beautiful or miserable, it depends on what you make out of it. God has given us free will, and the choices that we make have greater impact than we often realize. Seldom are we victims of circumstances.
Everyday, we are constantly making choices – often small, and on occasions, a big one. But even these seemingly small choices matter. By choosing a particular wardrobe, you are not only making a fashion statement, often, you are also letting people know how you would want to be regarded, it is more than just a price tag. Your clothes show how you choose to promote yourself. Or what values you uphold. and we know that people often make judgments based on external appearance.
You can choose to live a simple life or one that is relatively luxurious. How we choose to use our money reveals our priorities, as well as our hearts.
Beyond the concerns of our budget, the money we spend goes either to the thing in the here and now or to things that can make an eternal difference. Laying up treasures here on earth, though gratifying to a certain degree, also brings with it various levels of anxiety. Paradoxically, it can give you a sense of security and yet cause you to employ above-average security arrangements for you, your family and your possessions.
But sowing your talents and treasures on the things that matter to God, such as successful relationships and the means of bringing the living gospel to others, will surely give you deep fulfillment. You can determine to what extent your possessions will be a blessing to others. Your money can get only as far as the convenience store at the corner of the street. Or it can travel to places where the Word of God is not known. Countless numbers of people can be given the priceless gift of salvation when you support missions. The choice is yours.
Therefore, my friends, may you choose that your life impact others positively. May your be zealous in promoting the Lord Jesus Christ and His purpose by the choices you make. Then you will see how beautiful life can be – how God has purposed it. And at the end of your days, you will know that you have chosen well.
